Choir

Our long-established Church Choir leads the singing in our Sunday worship each week, and also provides several services each year. Under the direction of Dr Roz Sendorek, our church organist and pianist, the Choir has a wide repertoire, generally singing in four parts. We offer a gentle Reflections service of music and readings during Passiontide and a lively Carol service in Advent, as well as organising ‘Songs of Praise’ services where members of the congregation select the hymns and songs and speak about them. We enjoy sharing services with the children from our Messy Church at Staines, as well as forming the backbone of a Circuit ’Scratch Choir’ Choir which comes together for various events around the Circuit throughout the year.

The Choir is often asked to sing for special occasions, including weddings and funerals, and to perform in local musical events. We have also worked on the wider world stage, for example singing in the Christian musical ‘Barnabas’ with the composer, Roger Jones, in Cyprus.

There are no auditions for the Choir – everyone who would like to sing is welcome. The majority of our members do read music, but mostly because they have learned ‘on the job’ while in the Choir. We practise at the church every Wednesday at 7:30pm, and new singers are always encouraged to come along and join us.
